Team MusioMusicTV

Ky

Is a born and bread Londoner, who grew up in Hampstead, and at the age of 17 swapped leafy Hampstead for cool East London to pursue her music dream.

Ky started up her own band whilst at the renowned art school Camberwell with a couple of college mates. Five Sterling was born from a love of Led Zeppelin, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Dressing Like Boys, the band attracted a small cult status and had interest from Island Records. Sadly it wasn’t meant to be and Ky moved on to start a band called Spys Like Us well known for their snappy dress sense and catchy lyrics.

Whilst pursuing her love of music Ky also started her own fashion label urban chic, from selling in Portabella, Spitalfields and Camden markets she got and spotted by a buyer at Topman. Through the success and exposure of her men’s wear collection selling at Topman, her designs went global and she stocked her collection in Japan and New York. Her pieces were featured in both Japanese and British Vogue.

Due to Ky’s fashion credentials it was no coincidence that a chance meeting with the self styled fashionista and ex-soap star Ebony Bones was inevitable. Within a month Ky was touring the world with Ebony Bones.

While In Ebony Bones Ky had the opportunity to appear at a range of festivals such as Bestival, Lovebox and Glastonbury. With Ebony Bones gaining a huge fan base and plenty of press attention, Ky got the chance to perform on TV shows such as The Green Room, BBC Sound and Radio 1’s Zane Lowe show.

Fortune eventually took Ky and Ebony Bones on separate paths where Ky went to present a slot on the Disney Channel. Ky loved presenting so much that she jumped at the chance when she was given the opportunity to front a new online music show called MusioMusicTV.

Perfectly matched with her sister Che the two have a dumb and dumber approach to presenting. Ky has notched up a whole host of stars such as Lethal Bizzle, VV Brown, and Mark Ronson to name a few.

Ky also went back to her music roots when last year, she was invited to appear with The Noisettes and Drew from Babyshambles at their sell out gig at Chalk Farm’s Proud.

Che

Growing up in North London and always having a varied taste in music she never believed in listening to one genre of music. From an early age Che was happy to be waving her glow sticks at a rave in Hackney but she was also at home, shoe gazing with the indie crowd in her native Camden haunts.

Her hybrid taste of music led her to study television production in Manchester at the renowned Salford University which was also the breeding ground for hugely successful individuals such as Shameless and Corrie star Chris Bisson and the comedy genius that is Peter Kay.

After graduating from Manchester her break came working on the cult BBC series, ‘This Life’. Che progressed up the ranks from runner, researcher, AP through to Producer/Director for the BBC, ITV, Granada Manchester, Channel 5 and Channel 4.

It was when Che was working at Granada TV she got the chance to present a music slot for Manchester United TV, ‘Reds at Five’. At festivals such as V , and The Carling Festival Che interviewed the likes of The Doves, The Divine Comedy, Super Furry Animals and Stereophonics to name a few for the show.

Outside TV Che pursued her love for music by becoming a freelance writer and photographer for northern music and lifestyle magazine Metropolis. She photographed the likes of Charlatans front man Tim Burgess and dance act The Chemical brothers.

Che continues to work as a freelance producer/director and most recently has been working at ITV, however she has decided to go from behind the camera to in front and now co-presents the new monthly online music show MusioMusicTV alongside her sister Ky.

Che plays the clown while Ky likes to play it straight the winning combination has created a huge fan base.
